Wedding Card

Stamping 411 has a sketch challenge this week.

I used the wedding cake and garland from Stampin Up’s Blissful Bride stamp set.  As well as, the Waltzing Mouse Vintage Labels #14 set that corresponds with the Spellbinders die cut set.

First, I stamped the cake in Rich Razzleberry and colored the flowers with Copics.  Then, using the Spellbinders Labels #14, I cut out the cake and also cut out a solid colored piece in a larger size.  Next, using the Versamark champagne stamp pad, I inked the entire cake cut out and covered it in sparkle embossing powder (it’s hard to see in the photos, but very sparkly in person).  After that, using the Waltzing Mouse scroll border, I stamped over the embossing powder.  It gave a really interesting effect.  Finally, I adhered the cake cut out to the solid, larger cut out.

For the card, I cut an 8.5×11 piece of white card stock in half lengthwise, giving me a 4.25×5.5 card.  Next, I stamped the garland in Rich Razzleberry, four times on the card.  Since the garland doesn’t run the full length of the page, I had a slight overlap in the middle.  But since the shaped label was going to cover it, it was ok if they didn’t match perfectly. 🙂  Using my EK scallop border punch, I punched the bottom edge of the card.

Using dimentionals, I popped up the label a bit on the center of the card.  I attached the ribbon to the card before adhering the label, but tied it once the label was on.   The final touch was to color my gemstones with a Copic marker that was close in color to Rich Razzleberry.

I hope you like it.  It’s my first time entering the Stamp 411 challenge.

I appreciate all your comments and feedback!

2S4Y #57

I made this card for my husband using the 2S4Y sketch of the week.

I used a grey paper for the background.  Then layered a slightly smaller piece of grey heart paper (what you see in the cut outs) over that.  Then I cut hearts out of piece of white paper that was the same size as the grey heart paper using my Cricut and the Plantin Schoolbook cart.  Before layering it, I cut slightly smaller hearts out of red paper and attached to the back of the white paper.   Next, I cut two borders using the Plantin Schoolbook cart and offset them and attached them to the white paper.  Then I attached the red ribbon.  Using the cut out hearts I reversed layered them and popped them up.  Finally, I used a Stardust pen to add accents and stamped the Love You sentiment (Stampin’ Up).

I hope you like it.

Thank you for your kind comments and feedback!

My 6yr old son is always “helping” my husband play Zelda on the wii (I have no idea what this is).  They play in the room next to where I craft so I hear them all the time.  Jacob’s answer to every obstacle in the game is to “bomb it!”  However, this is rarely the solution.  Tonight it was, and he felt so smart!

another challenge

I have been away from the craft table for too long!  Just been busy with work, kids and hubby!  Thought I would get back into the swing of things with the 2S4Y challenge this week.  I made an anniversary card for my good friends.  14 years.  We are going with them to Maui to celebrate!  Can’t wait…can you image what the 20yr will be like?!  Hope I get asked to go on that one too!

The stamp are from Stampn’ Up and Unity.  The paper from My Minds Eye.  Hard to tell but the watering can is popped up as well as the flower.  Also, I used stickles on the inside of the flower and the water to make it shiny.

My work awards its employees with prize points.  I rarely use it for myself (there is never anything good).  This year the Company switched award providers.  Guess what?  I got a Gypsy, Copic markers and a couple of Nesties with my points!  Now I can’t wait to get points so I buy more craft stuff!  My next purchase is some new Cricut Carts!

As always, thanks for your kind comments and feedback!

Have a terrific and reflective Memorial Day weekend!

2S4Y card

I want to say how excited I am to have had visitors to my site!  The comments have been so sweet!  Hope you find my posts interesting and that you keep coming by!

I made this card for the 2 sketches for you site, but I didn’t get it posted in time to enter the contest.  The stamp is from Hero Arts.  I used water color pencils to color.
