Haunted Bird House

Last week on BBTB2 they had a challenge to use make a haunted house.  Well, not to many people entered so they are extending it AND offering blog candy!  And this week Polkadoodles is asking us make something spooky.

I decided to participate, but did not want to make your typical haunted house.  So, I made a spooky bird house instead.

The bird house is cut from the Stretch Your Imagination cart, the birds from the Home Decor cart, the witches hat and cape form Paper Doll Dress Up and I can’t figure out which cart I used for the moon and stars.

I used a web stamp stamped with white ink and embossed with sparkle powder.  The Moon was sent through my Xyron wrong side up and sprinkled with Martha Stewart Glitter.  Crystal Stickles was used on the stars and I used a stardust pen on the hat, cape and bird house.

I hope you like it!

Lets Dance!

'10-blog-hop-logo.jpg

Welcome!  This is my first Blog Waltz, and I am very excited!

I really wanted to use the new stamps I ordered last week for this project, but the “snail mail” is moving at its typical pace.  Therefore, I am using bits and pieces from Vintage Labels #1 and #4 with my Nestie.  The basket and apples are from the Doodlecharms Cricut cart.  The apples were cut three times with different papers and pieced together.  The final touch was Glossy Accents to make part of the apple shiny.  The pumpkin is from Everyday Paper Dolls.  I used pattern paper from Cloud 9, My Minds Eye and K & Co.  Always Artichoke, Chocolate chip, Rose Red and Pumpkin inks from Stampin Up for the stamps and inking the edges.

Thanks for taking turn around the dance floor with my blog!

Next month I look forward to showcasing more of Waltzing Mouse stamps!

See you then, if not sooner!

Thank you so much medallion card

I thought for several days about what I wanted to do for this weeks 2S4Y sketch challenge.  I spend a lot of time driving during the day for my job, which gave plenty of time to plan it out in my mind.  I used a Hero Arts Medallion stamp which I stamped in Stampin Up Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke and Rich Razzleberry inks.  Using a Spellbinders Nestie scallop circle and regular circle I cut out the brown and green medallions.  Then I used a Fiskars circle part to cut out the center of the Rich Razzleberry medallion.  Next, I covered the cut out pieces in Glossy Accents.

While I was waiting for that to dry I made my own background pattern paper using circular stamps from Stampin Up, Unity and Waltzing Mouse and the previous ink colors (I went through several drafts!).  The ribbon is two pieces of taffeta and a purplely-pink color of ribbon tied together with twine.  The little tag is made using a Stampin Up sentiment and punch.  I popped it up with dimentionals and placed it so the button was “in” one of the background circles.

Once the Glossy Accents dried (they really brightened the color of inks) I lined up the circles, adhered them together and popped them up over the ribbon.  Finally, I added three Stampin Up pearls: a big one in the center of the medallion, a medium one in the center of one of the background circles and a small one on an outer part of a background circle.

I am also entering this card in this weeks Polka Doodles challenge since I “made” some of my of my items (background paper, medallion), which was the theme this week.

Thanks for looking!  I appreciate your comments!

Hanging By a Thread Card

BBTB2 challenged everyone to use the Sewing Machine cut from the Heritage Cart.  I thought and thought and thought about this one.  After looking through my stamp stash I found a cute little saying and thread stamp.  I wanted to make a mini card and decided to make it more vintage looking since that’s the look of the cut.

I used patterned paper from Best of K& Company and Bazzill cardstock.  The stamps are from Unity, stamped with SU Pear Pizzaz and colored with YG03, E21, E25, E29 and R29 Copics.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for your comments, I love getting feedback!

Welcome Card

This is my first entry into a Waltzing Mouse Challenge (don’t you just love that name!).  I am pretty excited because I ordered my first set of her stamps a couple of days ago and can’t wait for them to arrive!  Todays entry contains Stampin’ Up stamps, American Crafts patterned paper and Bazzill card stock.  This is the sketch we had to work off of.  At first I was going to do a slide card with a rocket ship that moved over stars, then I scrolled through the images the designers made and changed my mind.  Hopefully I will have some new, and nice (the house doesn’t have a good track record), neighbors next door soon so I thought I would make a welcome card.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for you kind comments and feedback!

Paper butterfly flowers card

Well, I’m not sure why I thought I would find more time to craft once the kids went back to school!?  Anyway, I squeezed in one of the many challenges I wanted to do this week – 2S4Y.  The sketch fit in perfectly for the card I made for my manager whose father died last week.  I used the Stampin Up butterfly punch to make four butterflies.  Then I layed them out on paper towels and got them very wet with a spray bottle.  Then I used blue and orange ink with a waterpen to get the effect.  After letting them dry I curled the edges and overlapped them.  Then I put a brad through the center and added some silver Stickles in the center.  Then attached it to the card with dimensionals.  I learned this from my oh so crafty Stampin Up demonstrator and friend, Carol Fothergil.  I used a Cricut cut from the Storybook cart and ran it through a cuttlebug folder (I had to modify the cut a little to get the shape to line up the way I wanted  in the folder!) .  I also added some Crystal Stickles to the corners of the card on the embossing.  The saying is a Stampin Up stamp on one of their punches, then layered on another punch from Fiskers that I inked around the edges.  I used Bazzill Bling cardstock.

Thanks for your kind comments and feedback!

Birthday card

This card was made for my Mother’s birthday on Saturday.  I used Peachy Keen Stamp – Natalie.  Also, Stamp’n Up stamp – bee happy.  It’s hard to see, but I used faux stitching around the “Natalie” frame.  The lace punch is by Martha Stewart.  I utilized a discarded thread to hang the tag from the ribbon and button.  The tag cut is from Tags, Bags, boxes and more cart.  The paper is from The Best of K & Company.

Hope you like it!
