Ornament Card

I decided to try my hand at this weeks Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge.  I like how the card came out, however, I have heard so much about Glimmer Mist so I picked some up today.  When I sprayed it on the card it left droplet marks on the paper and smeared the ink on my sentiment.  I used Cloud 9 pattern paper and Recollections card stock.  Using some of the fun little elements that come with Waltzing Mouse Stamps, I made my own pattern for the ornaments (except the text one, I used an Inkadoo stamp).  I stamped it with Pear Pizzaz and Rose Red inks, then embossed it using Sparkle powder.  The Stampin Up ornament punch gave the great shape.  Then I used silver Stickles to define the tops.

After cutting my paper I hand drew a rectangle reminiscent of the new Frame it stamp set from Waltzing Mouse, using a black marker.  Then I stamped the Stampabilities sentiment at the bottom and underlined it with another Waltzing Mouse stamp.

Next, I figured out where I wanted the ornaments placed within the rectangle and made “ornament hangers” with the silver Stickles.  Finally, I popped the ornaments up with dimensionals.  And, as I mentioned above, sprayed the card with Glimmer Mist.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look.  Comments are always appreciated!

Silver Bells Christmas Card

My Pink Stamper is having a challenge to make a winter project.  Since I have been gone all weekend I decided to make a card.  I wanted to use my music note Cuttlebug folder so I was trying to think what would go good with it.  Silver Bells, silver bells (be glad you can’t hear me singing!)!  I found some bells on the Joys of the Season cart and cut them out of AC silver and gold foil paper.  Then I cut out two Nestie shapes and stamped them with Waltzing Mouse Vintage Label 14 Stamps and Stampabilities sentiment stamp.  I popped up the inner Nestie piece.  I outlined parts of the bells in silver Stickles, added a piece of “holly” to the card and tied my silver bells to it.

Pretty simple, but I thought it turned out pretty good.

Thanks for taking the time to look, I love comments!

Medallion Birthday Card

I wanted to play along with this weeks Waltzing Mouse challenge since I just received my stamps and wanted to play!

This is the sketch we were supposed to follow:

It’s my DH’s birthday on Friday so I decided to give this a masculine bent (I hope I succeeded!).

I used Bazzill cardstock, patterned paper from The Paper Studio, Offray ribbon, pearls by Mark Richards, Nesties and Stamps from Waltzing Mouse, Hero Arts and Stampabilities.

I originally cut the medallion into thirds, but when I was laying it out I thought it looked better together with the ribbons separated.

My new stamps were easy to use and I love the pizzazz it gives the Nesties!

Witches Head treat box

I found this super cute template at Waltzing Mouse Stamps.  I’ve been meaning to make it for a Halloween decoration and this weeks Polka Doodle challenge gave me the excuse.  We were to make something that contained something hidden.  The witches hat opens up to put a treat in!  I  love it!  I used Bazzill paper, a spider web stamp from Stampabilities, ribbon from Joann’s, pattern paper for the buckle from Cloud 9 Design and the fuzzy ribbon on the hat came in a Bo Bunny Halloween Kit.  I used my Cricut to cut the circles and scallop for the hat, Plantin Schoolbook and Home Accents carts.  Unfortunately, I forgot to draw the face on until after I put together the box, so it doesn’t look the best.  But she’s a witch so I guess she’s not supposed to be stunning, right?!
