Great Big Hugs

It seems the majority of my family has birthdays the last half of the year.  So, another birthday card from me.  This one is for my 90-year-old Grandmother.  I decided to follow the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge this week.

The Kraft, yellow and red paper is from Recollections.  The inks are from Stampin Up.  I trimmed one edge of the top flap of the card with a scallop punch, then ran the red and yellow papers through the cuttlebug in the circles and swiss dot folders.  The yellow paper is overlayed with a sheer yellow ribbon for Two Spellbinder die #14 were used for the cut out.  They were stamped with the Waltzing Mouse coordinating stamp set then colored with Copics.  The oval was cut out of the second stamped image, then the sentiment and “underline” were stamped within it and popped up with dimentionals.  A little bit of bling finished off the front.  The inside is stamped and embossed with a sentiment as well.

Bountiful Basket

Both of my “little” sisters birthdays are this month, right after Thanksgiving.  I decided to use the Stamping 411 sketch this week as my template for my youngest sister’s card.

I used patterned paper and colored paper from K and i.  Ink and markers from Stampin Up and Copic.  Stamps from Waltzing Mouse and Inkadinkado.  Ribbon from JoAnn’s and the diecuts are Nesties.

Hope you like it.  I was very productive yesterday so I will be back with more soon.

Gift box and tag

The current Tuesday challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge  is to make elements used in gift wrapping.

I pulled out my trusty Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut cart for this challenge.  I found a box and used the window option.  I wanted a fun Christmas design on the outside, but the pattern paper I have isn’t thick.  So, I pulled out my colored card stock and cut the box twice: once in the red DCWV cardstock and once in the Cloud 9 pattern paper.  Then I adhered them together before scoring.

Next, I colored and Stickled (I think I just made up a word) an Inkadinkado ornament stamp, which I then placed in the window of the box.  Using some festive ribbon and berries I made a topper for the card.

I also decided to make a tag.  I wanted to use the Peachy Keen frog stamp on the box, but the window wasn’t big enough so I used him on the tag instead.  Using my #14 Nestie labels and the patterned paper from the box, I cut out a medium-large size label.  Then I cut out a medium-small size cream-colored label to put in the center.  Next, I stamped my frog, colored him with my Copics and cut him out.  Using  my Joys of the Season Cricut cart, I cut out a hat for my frog to wear.  I using white embossing powder and Picket Fence Stickles for the white areas, and Xmas red for the trimmings, on the hat.  Finally, I attached the hat and popped up the frog.

I really like the way it turned out!

Fancy Tag

Waltzing Mouse blog is having a contest asking us to make a “fancy” tag.

I used Spellbinders labels #4 for all the shapes.  All stamps, except for the Christmas tree, are from Waltzing Mouse.  I embossed the stamped frame and little twirls on the main tag with Ranger gold embossing powder.  I really like how shiny it is!  The tree is from Inkadinkado.  All the coloring is done with Copics, including the outlining on the frames.  I used Gold, Xmas Red and Picket Fence Stickles on the tree for the star, ornaments and flocking.  The three little gems are by Stampin Up.  Using a punch from Stampin Up I made eight holes through which I threaded the red ribbon, then added the gold ribbon at the bottom.  I found the ribbon and black velvet flowers at Archivers.  The green “branch” with red berries is from my home decor Christmas stash.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for looking!

It was really windy when I took this picture!

Ornament Card

I decided to try my hand at this weeks Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge.  I like how the card came out, however, I have heard so much about Glimmer Mist so I picked some up today.  When I sprayed it on the card it left droplet marks on the paper and smeared the ink on my sentiment.  I used Cloud 9 pattern paper and Recollections card stock.  Using some of the fun little elements that come with Waltzing Mouse Stamps, I made my own pattern for the ornaments (except the text one, I used an Inkadoo stamp).  I stamped it with Pear Pizzaz and Rose Red inks, then embossed it using Sparkle powder.  The Stampin Up ornament punch gave the great shape.  Then I used silver Stickles to define the tops.

After cutting my paper I hand drew a rectangle reminiscent of the new Frame it stamp set from Waltzing Mouse, using a black marker.  Then I stamped the Stampabilities sentiment at the bottom and underlined it with another Waltzing Mouse stamp.

Next, I figured out where I wanted the ornaments placed within the rectangle and made “ornament hangers” with the silver Stickles.  Finally, I popped the ornaments up with dimensionals.  And, as I mentioned above, sprayed the card with Glimmer Mist.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look.  Comments are always appreciated!

Polka Doodles Christmas

The Polka Doodles challenge is to create a Christmas card.  Since I just received my All Around and Everywhere cd from Polka Doodles on Monday I decided to use some of the images: the background papers and birds.  The ornament and holly stamps are from Inkadinkado and the string lights stamp is from Recollections.  I colored them with my Copics.   I cut the tree from the Cricut Designers Calendar cart then cuttlebugged it with the swirls embossing folder.  Then I folded it in half and using a Stampin’ Up punch put two holes to thread a ribbon through.  If you untie the ribbon the tree opens up to see what the birds have done!

I hope you like it.

Thanks for your kind comments and feedback, I really look forward to it.
