Welcome Card

This is my first entry into a Waltzing Mouse Challenge (don’t you just love that name!).  I am pretty excited because I ordered my first set of her stamps a couple of days ago and can’t wait for them to arrive!  Todays entry contains Stampin’ Up stamps, American Crafts patterned paper and Bazzill card stock.  This is the sketch we had to work off of.  At first I was going to do a slide card with a rocket ship that moved over stars, then I scrolled through the images the designers made and changed my mind.  Hopefully I will have some new, and nice (the house doesn’t have a good track record), neighbors next door soon so I thought I would make a welcome card.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for you kind comments and feedback!

Watering Can card

I found these wonderful templates at Waltzing Mouse.   I was suffering from severe lack of mojo the last two weeks and this site really inspired me.  I had decided to make this watering can before the I saw the challenge for Polka Doodles this week.  I am also entering this card in the 2S4Y challenge because I didn’t want to do a regular card.  I used Stampin Up stamps and I made satin flowers.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for your kind comments and feedback.

Peachy Keen Challenge

This weeks Peachy Keen Stamps challenge to make something based on the following sketch:

I used the Happy Bird stamp from Peachy Keen and Picnic parade from Stampin’ UP.  Then colored them in with my new Copics!  It was fun doing all the blending but I don’t know how good of a job I did.  The paper is from Animal Cracker Stack by DCWV.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for all your comments and feedback!

I was thinking of sending this card to my friend who is going through a tough divorce.  I thought I would tell her that life is a picnic. Sometimes the ants come and try to ruin it and that’s when you need to pull out your can of Raid (or non-pesticide bug killer, or non-killing bug traps) to zap those buggers!  Then you can go on having a good picnic!

Be back soon with another challenge entry!

Miss Hanging Out With You card

I made this card for a friend who quit her job at my work to stay home with her three children.  Can you say jealous?!  We worked together for 10 years and I miss discussing life with her.

I used cuts from the Storybook cartridge as well as the Heritage cart.  The stamps are from Unity.

Hope you like it!

Went skiing last week.  Got home late last night, got up early this morning and went directly into my craft room!  10 days away, fun but I was going through withdrawals.

Thanks for all your kind comments and feedback!

School Valentine’s

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while.  Our internet service went down and I was unable to access my site.

Anyway.  Had a marathon evening making valentine’s for school parties and teachers.

I used the tag feature on the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, then stamped a heart or ice cream cone on the tags and the “friends” sentiment.  Then I tied the tags onto a sucker and presto we were done with 42 childrens cards.

I wanted to make a valentines card for my son’s teacher.  When I saw the pencil image in the My Community cartridge I thought it was perfect!  I cut a white pencil image with the shadow feature, a yellow pencil image, then did 4 cuts in differnt colors with the layers option.  After piecing it all together I used a Hero Arts stamp for Happy Valentine’s Day, and embossed it.  Then I used a Studio G stamp for the heart in red and embossed it with sparkle powder.  Finally, I put some bling on it!  I made a duplicate for my daughter’s teacher.

My son’s teacher has two assistants in the class room and I made them cards, too.  I used the card feature on Plantin Schoolbook, cut at 6.5″ by 3.5″, to make the base card.  Then cut out a white square at 3 by 3.  I stamped an owl and branch image then colored them with watercolor pencils.  I stamped a sentiment and embossed it.  Then tied a ribbon around the card, placed a button on the knot and used scalloped scissors along the bottom edge.

I did this one with same cuts as above.  I used a Hero Arts heart stamp that was embossed using Martha Stewart embossing powder.  Then stamped random words to make the sentiment and embossed it.  Once again I finished it off with ribbon, button and scalloped edge.

Thanks for any feedback!  Hopefully, I will be back soon if the internet stays working!

Vintage Challenge

Peachy Keen Stamps has a challenge using or being inspired by vintage items.

I used my husband’s Grandmother’s (did you follow that?) hummingbird pin as my vintage item.  I paired it with a flower stamp by Stampendous (didn’t have one by Peachy Keen 🙂 ), a sentiment stamp by Paper Studio and the flower stamp used for the watermark by Penny Black.

I plan to send this to my Mother-in-law as a rememberance of her mother.

I hope you like it.

Here is a close-up of the stamp and pin.  I know it’s kind of hard to see, but if you look to left you can see the flower watermark.

I popped up the stamp and used black ribbon.

See you next time.
