Wedding Cake

Well, this is what I have been working on for the last couple of weeks.  A wedding cake made of paper.  I saw the idea in the new Feb/Mar 2011 Cricut Magazine.  I thought it would be perfect as a centerpiece for my sister-in-law’s Bridal Shower this past weekend.  It was a lot of fun to make!  I tweaked a few things from the one in the magazine.

Materials:

1. Paper mache boxes from Joann’s (8″, 9″, 10″)

2. 24″ textured paper pad from DCWV

3. Open stock “I love you” paper from Joann’s

4. White card stock from Stampin Up

5. Martha Stewart sugar glitter

6. Cricut expression

7. Plantin Schoolbook (scallop circle and border) and Heritage cartridges (flower flourish)

8. Gypsy (not necessary, but makes things easier)

9. Glue pen for glitter and adhering to “cake”

10. Flowers and pearl picks from Michael’s

11. Ribbon from Joann’s

Hanging By a Thread Card

BBTB2 challenged everyone to use the Sewing Machine cut from the Heritage Cart.  I thought and thought and thought about this one.  After looking through my stamp stash I found a cute little saying and thread stamp.  I wanted to make a mini card and decided to make it more vintage looking since that’s the look of the cut.

I used patterned paper from Best of K& Company and Bazzill cardstock.  The stamps are from Unity, stamped with SU Pear Pizzaz and colored with YG03, E21, E25, E29 and R29 Copics.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for your comments, I love getting feedback!
