star boxes

Ok, I know I have not done an entry in blog in forever.  I don’t know what is going on this year!  I am going to try to do some catching up.

First, I am going to show you a quick and easy project I did for the fourth of July (my DD’s birthday).

I decorated star-shaped paper mache boxes.  I believe I got them at Hobby Lobby.  The paper used was open stock from there as well.  After measuring and cutting the paper, I adhered it with Modge Podge.  Easy Peasy!  Decorative and great to put presents in.

Grandfather card

This is a vintage style card I made for my father-in-law.  I used Waltzing Mouse Text-it stamp set as well as a Michaels $1 stamp.  The patterned paper is from K & Company that was embossed with the swirls Cuttlebug folder.  I antiqued the card with Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink (which mixed with the chocolate chip Stampin UP ink and gave the backgrounds a real cool red tint), and distressed the edges with scissors.  The die cuts are made with Spellbinders and the Cuttlebug.  The ribbon is from Archievers.

Cupcake birthday

It’s my daughters 10th birthday today!  I can’t believe I have 2 children in double digits.   I made her card using Waltzing Mouse sketch for this week.  I really loved how it turned out!  I used patterned paper from DCWV’s In the Kitchen stack, the cupcake and sentiment stamps are from Waltzing Mouse’s Frame It set and inks ( Chocolate Chip, Delightful Daffodil,  Mambo Melon) are from Stampin Up.  Easy Peasy, but very pretty.

Bridal Shower Mini Album

This is the most ambitious project I have done (although stayed tuned for a future entry).  My sister-in-law is getting married (you may remember I recently posted the invitations I made for her) and I decided to make an album of her bridal shower for her.  I am not a scrapbooker.  Cards are what I spend most of my time working on.  That being said – I really had fun putting this together!  It took a long time but I want to make another one.

Materials:

1)Shaped chipboard album (can’t remember who it’s by)

2)Cricut

3)Gypsy Font, Lyrical letters, Home decor, Plantin Schoolbook and Sweet Treats cartridges

4)Stampin’ UP Stamps, punches, inks, paper and pearls

5)K & Co Best of Barbara Walton paper, Bazzil Bling paper, My Minds Eye Lost and Found Collection, Making Memories Je t’adore collection, open stock paper, Bo Bunny Double Dot

Fire truck birthday card

Hello!  I made a boy (or girl, if she likes fire trucks!) birthday card following this weeks Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge.

I used Stampin Up Good Neighbors stamp set for the houses, trees and sentiment.  The fire truck is a digital stamp from Waltzing Mouse that you can find in the Help for Katie donation set (see the side bar for info).  I colored the truck using Copics and hand cut the road.

Thanks for stopping by!

Great Big Hugs

It seems the majority of my family has birthdays the last half of the year.  So, another birthday card from me.  This one is for my 90-year-old Grandmother.  I decided to follow the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge this week.

The Kraft, yellow and red paper is from Recollections.  The inks are from Stampin Up.  I trimmed one edge of the top flap of the card with a scallop punch, then ran the red and yellow papers through the cuttlebug in the circles and swiss dot folders.  The yellow paper is overlayed with a sheer yellow ribbon for Two Spellbinder die #14 were used for the cut out.  They were stamped with the Waltzing Mouse coordinating stamp set then colored with Copics.  The oval was cut out of the second stamped image, then the sentiment and “underline” were stamped within it and popped up with dimentionals.  A little bit of bling finished off the front.  The inside is stamped and embossed with a sentiment as well.

Childs birthday card

My niece has her 7th birthday coming up in a few weeks.  I decided to use my new Waltzing Mouse stamp set on this card, as well as the Stamping 411 sketch for this weeks challenge.

I decided to use fun colors that reminded me of sweet things to eat.  The pattern papers are from DCWV’s Nana’s Kids.   As already mentioned, I used Waltzing Mouse Frame It stamp set and Copics to color.

Purple Music card

As I mentioned in my previous post, it is my sisters birthdays this month.  My middle sister is very different from my youngest sister and myself (not always in a bad way ;)).  She loves purple and white (a holdover from sorority life) and she is more modern in her tastes than I am.  So coming up with an appropriate card design could have been challenging.  Thankfully, Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge came to my rescue.

I thought this unique design would be perfect.  Of course, I used purple and white (Stampin Up Concord Grape paper and ink).  I decided to use the WM Musical Backgrounds stamps.  First, I stamped the grape paper with the musical bars in coordinating ink. Then I used the treble clef and bass clef to make a random design on the white paper with the grape ink.  Next, I cut off a corner and layered it over the concord grape so the music bars are visible.  The tag was made using Nesties fancy tags.  After being stamped with a Stampin Up tiny sentiment, I sponged over the tag with the concord ink and added a little bling (what girl doesn’t like bling).  Then I tied some embroidery floss around it on one side, and popped it up.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for looking, your comments are always appreciated.

Bountiful Basket

Both of my “little” sisters birthdays are this month, right after Thanksgiving.  I decided to use the Stamping 411 sketch this week as my template for my youngest sister’s card.

I used patterned paper and colored paper from K and i.  Ink and markers from Stampin Up and Copic.  Stamps from Waltzing Mouse and Inkadinkado.  Ribbon from JoAnn’s and the diecuts are Nesties.

Hope you like it.  I was very productive yesterday so I will be back with more soon.

Thanks for stopping by, comments are always appreciated!
