Baby boy card

I was looking around the internet for a new card challenge site and came across Raise the Bar Challenge blog site.  This week they had offered a sketch for the challenge.  My coworker just had a baby boy on Friday so I decided to make her card with this challenge in mind.  The bassinet is from CTMH stamps and the sentiments are from Stampin UP.  I used my Copics to color and my Cuttlebug on the blue background.

I hope you like it.

Baby Card – MPS challenge

My Pink Stamper is having a challenge using the colors pink, green and black, and a cricut cut.  I needed to make a baby card for a couple at our church and this fit the bill (although working black into it was a bit challenging).

I got out my New Arrival cart and chose the elephant cut.  I went looking at my Nana’s Baby Girl paper pad and couldn’t decide on one paper.  So…I used 8!   I decided to make a patchwork design with faux stitching for the base of the card and then use two different patterns for the elephant.  For the elephant’s tail my daughter worked magic with two strands of embroidery floss and then I tied a bow at the end.  Then I used pop dots to raise it up.

Finally, I stamped and cut out a flower for the elephant’s trunk to hold and printed out the word baby in a fancy font (I didn’t have any baby stamps – can you believe it).

On the inside, I repeated the patchwork design and stamped a sentiment.

I hope you like it!

Pea in a Pod card

A young couple  (I can say that b/c I am at least 10-12 yrs older) at our church is adopting a baby girl in June.  My 12yr old daughter’s  Bible study group is throwing a baby shower for her.  My daughter asked me to make a card.  So, I got out my New Arrival cartridge and started to flip through it looking for inspiration.  When I saw the pea pod I knew what I was going to do!  Plus it allowed me to use my Peachy Keen face stamps (I have never used the small faces before).

I used the Plantin Schoolbook cart for the rectangles and oval.  I Cuttlebugged the pea pod with dots and the oval with swirls.  I used a Martha Stewart Doilly punch and layered some ribbon on it.

Inside I used Unity stamps for the sentiment.

Hope you like it!

Congrat’s on new baby card

This is a card I made for my sister when she had her little girl.

I found inspiration for this card on another site, but I can’t remember which one.

I made a rectangular cut using my Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge.  Then folded the card into unequal thirds.  Then used smaller rectangular cuts to provide a mat for the lamb.

The cut is from the Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge, paper from Nana’s Nursery-Baby Girl.

I cut the lamb on shadow in brown.  Then cut out the lamb using the original cut on white paper.  Then layers in white, which I then used Martha Stewart glitter on the layers (fur).  For the face I used googly eyes and filled in the rest with chalk.  I used Versa Magic chalk dye in pink dust to give it’s face some color.

I used a brown and pink ribbon the said “baby girl” on it for accent.

I made the envelope and liner using a standard envelope cut from the Wild Card cartridge.  Then I used scalloped scissors to trim the envelope flap.

I hope you like it.  I loved it so much I almost didn’t give it to my sister…almost!

Sorry, I had no idea how fuzzy this was.  The rest should be clearer.

You will notice the black mark on the lambs fur.  That was me trying to outline the leg.  Didn’t work very well – I won’t do that again!
