Baby boy card

I was looking around the internet for a new card challenge site and came across Raise the Bar Challenge blog site.  This week they had offered a sketch for the challenge.  My coworker just had a baby boy on Friday so I decided to make her card with this challenge in mind.  The bassinet is from CTMH stamps and the sentiments are from Stampin UP.  I used my Copics to color and my Cuttlebug on the blue background.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for your kind comments and feedback.

Vintage card

I don’t do vintage too often, but I found this old book of children’s prayers and thought the pictures were perfect.  In order to do the punch out I copied the picture twice.  Then punched out a circle, colored it with Copics and adhered it over the second picture.  With the second copy I rounded the corners,  inked the edges and curled the corners over a pencil.  Finally, I attached a ribbon with a popped up sentiment and placed it over vintage looking patterned paper.  I used a Stampin Up stamp on the inside.  This is for the challenge at Polka Doodles.

I hope you like it.

Witches Hat

I’ve been in a fall/Halloween mood lately (despite the 90 degree temps!).   I think it’s because the kids are back in school, fall clothes are in the stores and I am scheduling into September and October.  Anyway, I decided to make a Halloween themed card for this weeks 2S4Y challenge.

The hat is actually a stamp  from Northwoods Rubber Stamps that I enlarged with my home copier.  Then I colored it with Copics, added Martha Stewart glitter, cut it out and popped it up.  The spooky paper is from Cloud 9 Design Specialty Photo Mats.  The inside saying is by Hero Arts.  I thought it was perfect for a card, invitation, all kinds of things!

I hope you like it.

bunches of flowers card

This card was based on a sketch over at Peachy Keen Challenge Blog Site.

I used a Stampin’ Up stamp, Bazzill and K & Co paper, a Martha Stewart Doiley Punch, Cuttlebug embossing folder and Copic markers.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for your kind comments and feedback.

Cute Couple card

Last weeks Polka Doodles challenge is to follow a sketch.

I used a “new” to me Stampin’ Up set.  I thought it would make a cute anniversary card for my sister and her husband.  Paper is from Bo Bunny and Bazzill.  I used my copics to color the image.  The sentiment is of my making on the computer.

I hope you like it.

Thank you for your kind comments and feedback.

Thank you candles

My son had his last day of preschool today.   He had two incredible teachers.  I bought the candles and decorated the outside.  The apples and basket are from the Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge.   The pumpkin is from Everyday Paperdolls.  I used Spellbinder Nestibilities for the flourished squares and Stampin’ Up for the stamped images and sentiment.  Also, Martha Stewart border punches, Branches and Bontanicals.

Little boy birthday card

Over at 2S4Y the challenge this week is to interpret the following sketch.

This is what I came up with.  I used the airplane cut from the New Arrival Cricut Cart, including the banner.  The paper is from Nana’s Kids by DCWV and the sentiment is from Stampin’ Up.  I finished off the inside with a shadow cut of the airplane and a strip of the patterned paper.

This card is for my nephew’s birthday, he’s turning 3.  He is so cute!  My “baby” (6 year old son) told me yesterday he wanted me to have a baby boy so he would have a friend to play with at home.  I  pointed out to him that a baby wouldn’t be able to play with him for a couple of years and that I would have to spend a lot of time with a baby, he changed his mind.  Phew!  Dodged that bullet!

Strawberry Thank You

Made a thank you card using this weeks 2S4Y challenge sketch.

I decided to make it a mini card.  This was my first time trying this, I usually make larger cards.  It was a challenge in and of itself to think on a smaller scale.  But, I really enjoyed it.  My kids thought the little card was “so cute.”

I used Bazzill paper for the card.  They make 3×6 sheets so all you have to do is fold it in half and you’re golden!  Then I used a strawberry background paper from DCWV Nana’s Nursery Baby Girl stack (as are the other patterned papers I used).  The green polka dot ribbon is from Joann’s.  I stamped the Unity strawberry stamp twice.  Once on pink polka dot paper, once on green plaid.  Then cut them out.  I used the green for the leaves and stem, also the highlight on the strawberry.  Then I used my quick glue pen to make spots on the strawberry for the cherry popsicle Martha Stewart glitter to stick to, and popped it up.  Finally, I stamped a sentiment with my Stampin’ Up stamp, punched it out and inked the edges.  I restamped the berry on the envelope.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for your kind comments and feedback.  I really enjoy hearing from everyone!

We went to visit my parents in Branson, MO this weekend.  We spent one day at a waterpark, the next waterskiing, tubing and boogie boarding.  The last night we went to Silver Dollar city.  It was so hot and humid we sweated through our clothes (even at 7pm it was in the 90’s).  Once it started to cool off it become more enjoyable.  Then we got on a rollercoaster and log flume ride that got us wet all over again!  This thank you card is going to my mother’s neighbor who was kind enough to give us her local after 6pm passes to the park (when combined with the 2 my parents gave us we only had to buy one park ticket…and drinks, snacks and souvenirs!).  We had a great time!
