Accordian Easter Card

So I couldn’t sleep the other night and got up at 2:30am and decided to make an Easter Card.  I really enjoyed playing with Peachy Keen Spring Stamp mini’s the other day so I decided to use them again.

I used paper from Nana’s Kitchen.  I cut it so I had the different patterns aligned the way I wanted.  I cut one section 10″ x 3.5″.  The second section was 5″ wide and 5.5″ tall and I had to cut out a 2.5″ x 2″ section out of the right side of the top. It required piecing together the paper to make the card the right length.  I scored the paper horizontally at 2.5″, 5″ and 7.5″ on the first piece and at 2.5″ and 5″ on the second.  Then accordian folded the paper and overlapped the last fold of the fist paper with the first fold of the second paper and adheared it together.  Next, I added a 2.5″ tall piece of white paper onto the patterned paper.

I used Martha Stewart Botanical punch along the top edge of the back of the card.  I inked sections of the chick and egg stamps and layered them together to form the images on the card.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for all your nice commets and feedback.

Hello! Easter Card

Ordered several stamps from Peachy Keem Stamps on St. Patrick’s Day (and won one of their gift certificates in the drawing!), one of which was the Easter mini’s.   What can I say…Love it!  I had so much fun mixing and matching these stamps together!  I thought those little chicks had a “just hatched” look so I carefully pieced the broken egg and chick together to get the image on the front of the card.  Since the chick just entered the world I thought “Hello!” was a perfect sentiment to pair with it.

Since I enjoyed doing the outside so much I continued the hatching theme inside the card as well.

I cuttlebugged the vertical rectangle (Co’ordinations paper) on the front of the card and sanded it to bring out the green color underneath, then inked the edges in green as well.  I also inked the edges of the main card and around the chick as well.

The frame around the chick was cut using the Heritage cartridge.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for your nice comments and feedback!

Father’s Day Card

This card started with the sketch from PolkaDoodles.  When I saw the intersecting lines I had an inspiration to “basket weave” the ribbon.  The blue and brown color scheme seemed masculine to me so I made a father’s day card.

I stamped the blue background with versa stamp watermark ink. The stamps are from Unity and the scalloped circle and rectangle cuts came from the Celebrations cartridges.  I used silver embossing powder on the stamps.  I used pop dots on the circle on raise it up.

I hope you like it.  Thanks for your feedback!

Miss Hanging Out With You card

I made this card for a friend who quit her job at my work to stay home with her three children.  Can you say jealous?!  We worked together for 10 years and I miss discussing life with her.

I used cuts from the Storybook cartridge as well as the Heritage cart.  The stamps are from Unity.

Hope you like it!

Went skiing last week.  Got home late last night, got up early this morning and went directly into my craft room!  10 days away, fun but I was going through withdrawals.

Thanks for all your kind comments and feedback!

Disney Scrapbook layout – Hokey Pokey

The characters asked us to join them in performing the Hokey Pokey.  My daughters and I had fun, my son stood there with his arms crossed over his chest and refused to do anything!

Disney Scrapbook layout – Prince of Narnia

Took the family to Disney last May.  I am now getting around to putting pictures in a scrapbook.

This layout’s theme revolves around a “character” visit at Disney Studio’s to Prince Caspian.  We were the only one’s there and “Prince Caspian” poured on all the charm with my 11 yr. old.  I thought she would be embarrassed over the page I made but she loved it and blushed a lot!  Too, cute!

70th Birthday Card

I made this card for my Mother-in-law.  She is turning 70 on Thursday.  I utilized the layout shown on 2S4Y.  I think it turned out pretty cute.

The paper is from AC Patterned Paper Crafts Fair collection.  I used Unity Stamps for the topiary and sentiment.  This was quick to make because I had it all mapped out in my head and only made minor adjustments to conform to the 2S4Y challenge.

I was out of town last week for work and didn’t get to do any crafting!  Then I did a Design Studio update and it wouldn’t take, and I could not get anyone on the phone to help me until today.  I do everything with the design studio.  I have no clue how to use my machine utilizing the keypad! 🙂  I have been in withdrawal!
