Vintage Challenge

Peachy Keen Stamps has a challenge using or being inspired by vintage items.

I used my husband’s Grandmother’s (did you follow that?) hummingbird pin as my vintage item.  I paired it with a flower stamp by Stampendous (didn’t have one by Peachy Keen 🙂 ), a sentiment stamp by Paper Studio and the flower stamp used for the watermark by Penny Black.

I plan to send this to my Mother-in-law as a rememberance of her mother.

I hope you like it.

Here is a close-up of the stamp and pin.  I know it’s kind of hard to see, but if you look to left you can see the flower watermark.

I popped up the stamp and used black ribbon.

See you next time.

2S4Y Birthday Card #2

Since I was making one card I decided to do a second one for the future.  Same theme, just deleted the candle and changed the sentiment.  I also used a different background paper, but still from Nana’s Kitchen stack.  I used three rick rack ribbon strips in stead of one thicker ribbon.

This turned out to be pretty big, so I changed it from a card to something I am going to decorate a gift bad with.

Would love feedback.

2S4Y Birthday Card #1

Hello!

Ok, my daughter is going to birthday party tomorrow so I desided to make the card for her friend using the 2 sketches for you design in this weeks design challenge.

The patterned paper is from Nana’s Kitchen stack.  The solid paper is just paper I had around.  The cupcake stamp is from Hero Arts and the sentiment and candle is from Stampendous party invite collection.  The embossing powder is Zing! and A La Mode, the glitter and cupcake border punch is Martha Stewart.  I used water color pencils on the bottom of the cupcake.

One thing I ment to do to the card and forgot, was to emboss the blue paper.  I think it would have added a little more to the card, but I feel it turned out pretty good.

Anyway, hope you like it.  Let me know what you think.

Congrat’s on new baby card

This is a card I made for my sister when she had her little girl.

I found inspiration for this card on another site, but I can’t remember which one.

I made a rectangular cut using my Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge.  Then folded the card into unequal thirds.  Then used smaller rectangular cuts to provide a mat for the lamb.

The cut is from the Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge, paper from Nana’s Nursery-Baby Girl.

I cut the lamb on shadow in brown.  Then cut out the lamb using the original cut on white paper.  Then layers in white, which I then used Martha Stewart glitter on the layers (fur).  For the face I used googly eyes and filled in the rest with chalk.  I used Versa Magic chalk dye in pink dust to give it’s face some color.

I used a brown and pink ribbon the said “baby girl” on it for accent.

I made the envelope and liner using a standard envelope cut from the Wild Card cartridge.  Then I used scalloped scissors to trim the envelope flap.

I hope you like it.  I loved it so much I almost didn’t give it to my sister…almost!

Sorry, I had no idea how fuzzy this was.  The rest should be clearer.

You will notice the black mark on the lambs fur.  That was me trying to outline the leg.  Didn’t work very well – I won’t do that again!

2S4Y card

I want to say how excited I am to have had visitors to my site!  The comments have been so sweet!  Hope you find my posts interesting and that you keep coming by!

I made this card for the 2 sketches for you site, but I didn’t get it posted in time to enter the contest.  The stamp is from Hero Arts.  I used water color pencils to color.

Love birds card

I have been busy this last week trying to complete different blog challenges.

This one is also from Bitten By The Bug 2.  The challenge was to use any cut from and Cricut cartridge to make a Valentine’s Day card.  But, you have to incorporate the color purple somewhere in the card.

I used an eggplant colored paper as the bird and heart shadows as well as the card background.  I also used a purple stamped “Love You”.  The birds were cut from the Home Decor cartridge and the heart from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.

Hope you like it.

Snowman Card

Another blog that I love is Bitten By The Bug 2.  The challenge was to use the snowman from the Cricut Doodlecharms Cartridge.  I also used Peachy Keen face stamps and the bird stamp is from Penny Black.  The background paper is Co’ordinations and the hat and scarf paper is American Crafts.

Here is a close up of his face

Why am I blogging? Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge

Part of the reason I finally decided to start this blog is that I wanted to share my creations with someone (my kids are happy to see them, but….and my husband just says “That’s nice”).  So I am hoping for some great feedback, ideas and education from the more experienced crafters and bloggers.  Also, I am hoping to post tips, instructions and how to’s.  The biggest hurdle I have is learning all the different things you can do in the world of scrapbooking.  I am hoping to make it easier on others.  Finally, I wanted a place to link to for other blog challenges, and then you will know about them, too.

Now that I am done rambling here is the first item.  I designed it for the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge.  I love my Peachy Keen faces stamp!  I have told several friends about them.  The challenge was to create an altered item that fits the following criteria:

• Item must be a purse/tote bag (any size)
• Must include at least one stamped image
• Must incorporate a winter theme (snowflakes, snowmen, Valentine’s Day, outdoor snow activities)
This is my interpretation

Hello world!

Well, here it is.  I am still trying to figure this out.  I am hoping to share pictures and comments on my card, scrapbooking or other creations.  Stay tuned there will be more to come.
